Meet the Team

Kara Stocker, PsyD

Kara Stocker, Psy.D. is a Clinical Neuropsychologist and the founding owner of Mindmap. She is licensed to practice in Michigan, Alaska, and Colorado. Dr. Stocker is also credentialed by PSYPACT and authorized to provide telehealth services in 42 participating states.

Dr. Stocker has extensive experience conducting clinical, aeromedical, and forensic evaluations for individuals ages 7 and older.

Areas of Expertise

  • Neurodevelopmental disorders: Evaluations that influence the brain and its development during childhood including autism, ADHD, intellectual disorders, and learning disorders.
  • Neurocognitive disorders: The assessment of cognitive decline due to conditions such as traumatic brain injury (TBI), stroke, dementia, Parkinson’s disease, substance abuse, medical conditions, and other conditions that effect the brain.
  • Forensic evaluations: Performing court ordered evaluations that address decision-making capabilities or competency.
  • Aeromedical evaluations: A HIMS trained provider for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in relation to neuropsychological and psychological evaluations of pilots and air traffic controllers.

Education

  • Two-year post-doctoral training in neuropsychology included supervised clinical experience at a state psychiatric hospital in Colorado in addition to additional coursework and training.
  • Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology from Alliant International University in San Francisco in August 2013.
  • Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling and an Education Specialist degree (EdS) from Florida State University in 2008.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from Central Michigan University in 2005.
